Workstation Munchies

     In our society today we are all in a hurry. Multi-tasking is the mantra and even though no one really does that well we try to get more done within a set amount of time. Youtube is filled with funny videos of people failing to do so. We talk while we drive, text while we walk and eat while we work. 

     The last example is what happend to this client. She was diligently working along while having snacks at the computer when suddenly the touch pad stopped working. But it didn't stop all the way. It would work but randomly jump all over and then stop working in certain areas. 

     I had run into this problem before so I asked her to clean the touch pad around the edges once she did it worked for a while but then started acting up again. I picked it up from her location and it appeared there was a bit of dirt visable but not so much to cause problems. I was preparing to order a new trackpad but just in case I decided to do a deep cleaning of the laptop before ordering. Taking it apart initially I found a unknown substance was spilled into the casing causing everything to have a stick film which welcomed crumbs and dust to make their home right where they lay. 

     After the cleaning, especially around the trackpad, everything worked properly and we were able to save the client time, money, and return the laptop the very next day.
